Talking about it helps break the stigma: Aadesh Chaudhary on mental health
Sasural Simar Ka actor Aadesh Chaudhary, who has also been part of shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum, and Laal Ishq, to name a few, says it was high time that the conversation around mental health began and people paid attention to it and the trigger points too.
Speaking on the occasion of World Mental Health Day, which is observed on October 10, he said, “I believe mental health is a very real issue that needs attention. It’s not exaggerated at all. In our fast-paced world, people are facing so much stress and pressure, and it’s affecting their mental well-being. Talking about it helps break the stigma, and it’s important we take it seriously.”
He understands that with the fast pace of life, people are often multitasking and overindulging in things, which can be overwhelming. He said, “That’s when focus slips. I try to prioritize and stay mindful of what truly matters to me, so I don’t lose myself in the chaos.”
For Aadesh, mental health is as important as physical health. “I make sure to take breaks when needed, practice meditation, and spend time doing things I love, like working out or just having quiet time to myself. It helps me stay grounded and balanced,” he said.
He calls himself a mix of both extrovert and introvert, and said, “I enjoy sharing my life with close friends and loved ones, but I also value my privacy and need time alone to recharge. It’s all about finding the right balance.”
Two mental health tips? “One thing I always do is take a break and go for a walk in nature—it really helps clear my mind. Another thing is to listen to music; it instantly lifts my spirits and gives me energy,” Aadesh ended.
