“Kalika”, a powerful awareness-driven film based on mental abuse, received an overwhelming response in theatres and became widely discussed for its sensitive and meaningful subject. To honor her late father, Raushni Srivastava organized a special women-only screening at PVR Juhu, where hundreds of women watched the film and wholeheartedly praised its message and execution.
Raushni’s father passed away on December 12, 2020. Speaking in an emotional voice, she said,
“Even though today marks my father’s fifth death anniversary, I feel he is still watching over me. I still feel his presence. Whatever work I am doing today is because of his blessings. My father would have been happy that I made “Kalika”, a film that raises awareness about mental abuse.”
She further emphasized the importance of speaking out against emotional abuse, saying,
“Emotional abuse should never be taken lightly. One must raise their voice against it. To spread awareness, I dedicated this film to my father and organized a special screening exclusively for women. If even a few of the hundreds of women present find the courage to speak up against mental abuse and save themselves from this suffering, then the purpose of making this film will be fulfilled.”
